What inspires you is also within you.

Have you ever read or heard a story about a warrior or a goddess and felt like something within your soul was deeply connected to the story or personification of that particular goddess? It's because as humans, we are drawn to archetypes. An archetype is symbol or motif in literature, art, or mythology. These archetypes are patterns of instinctual behaviors that are contained in a collective unconscious. By sharing, comparing, and understanding these archetypes, our human brains can inherently understand deep, unconscious things about ourselves. These archetypes can make us feel deeply inspired if it relates to our life's story. It's important to note that what you admire about a certain archetype may resonate so deeply because that behavior, thought, or pattern also lies deep within your soul. I'm starting a weekly exploration into the 7 Goddesses that represent:

(Click on the following titles to learn more)

  1. The Virgin Goddesses: that represent the independent, self-sufficient quality in women

  2. The Vulnerable Goddesses: that represent the traditional roles of wife, mother, and daughter

  3. The Alchemical/Transformative Goddess: that represent love and beauty, erotic attraction, sensuality, sexuality, and new life

We can use these as inspiration and guidance for our week OR we can use these to simply explore and learn more about ourselves.

The Warrior Goddess Archetype as a whole

The Warrior Goddesses represents not only physical strength embodied, but also the ability to protect and fight for personal rights and those of of others. The balance of these qualities is so admirable.

There is always an unconscious side that exists to such admirable qualities that requires an intentional, conscious balancing act of traits.

The unconscious side of the Goddess archetype is the need to win at all costs, abandoning all ethical principals to prove your superiority or worth.

The Goddess archetype may require some of the Warrior archetype to help you to stand up for your rights and set firm personal boundaries. This is helpful if you want to take control in your life, and no longer wish to play the role of the victim.

The Warrior archetype may be particularly appealing  to you if you have a very strong sense of self and are proud of the victories you have achieved. The unconscious side of this archetype may ask you to reflect honestly on the pride and the cost associated with these victories in your own life. The Warrior archetype may require some of the Goddess archetype to help you soften your edges and loosen your grips of controlling outcomes in your life.

Click HERE if you want to study each of the archetypes and learn how to implement some of these qualities to embody a life that is balanced and exhibits equanimity that we all desire.
